Ysha [she/they] is a fat, queer non-binary autistic immigrant of color, with Italian and Egyptian heritage, currently residing in Wales.

In their daily life, they serve as an intersectionality educator, delivering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training to organizations with a particular emphasis on the intersection of LGBTQ+ rights and racialization. As a committee member of Glitter Cymru, a grassroots organization created by and for queer people of colour in Wales, and as the chair of Glitter Siblings, the branch dedicated to marginalized genders, she is deeply committed to advocacy and education.

Born and raised in Italy, Ysha was the only person of colour in their village and school, growing up within the white side of their family.

They are the first generation not to work in the fields directly but were raised on their grandparents' farm in a small village of about six hundred people in the north-western countryside of Italy. This upbringing allowed her to connect with the rhythms and rituals of the land, which she now recognises as integral to the traditional folk customs and magic of her region. Raised Catholic, they experienced a unique version of Catholicism that intertwined with magic and the cult of saints, typical of small village life in Italy, that is more aptly described as Italian Folk Magic.

As a child, Ysha was often taken to see cartomancers and practitioners of segnature, thus becoming familiar with the traditions of both tarot and the Sibilla italiana oracle throughout their life. This knowledge continues to inform her tarot readings, which are often described as imbued with an "Italian style" flair.

In 2022, after experiencing a family bereavement, they began exploring witchcraft and spiritual traditions, transitioning from an agnostic/atheist viewpoint toward an independent spirituality that merges their ancestral upbringing with the critical perspectives gained through decades of academic study. This journey has been essential in navigating the systems of oppression they encounter as a multiply marginalized person.

Ysha lives in Cardiff, South Wales (UK), with their wonderful spouse, Raven, and their three tuxedo cats: Artois, Stella, and the memory of their late big brother, Whiska.
